It’s outrageous that the majority of our lawmakers are unelected – the British people deserve a House of Lords that serves the people.

While the removal of the hereditary peers is a cause for celebration, the fight is not yet over.

More than 800 unelected Lords still shape our laws, all without accountability or the British public’s approval. This has gone on for far too long.

And who are these Lords? Many are big money donors, mates of the Prime Minister or were appointed as a consolation prize for losing an election. Enough is enough.

We deserve a House of Lords that we, the British people, have a say over. It should be us all, not Prime Ministers, who chooses those that have a say over our laws.
