It’s one thing having the House of Lords filled with ex-politicians and their closest friends. It’s another to get a say over the laws in our country just because of the family you’re born into.
The archaic system in the House of Lords means that there are still 92 ‘hereditary peers’ – positions of power that can be inherited, not through experience or expertise, but through birthright. It’s frankly medieval.

We need an elected second chamber, but we are stuck with a bloated chamber of unelected elites, many who continue to be born into power.
Even the government recognise the problem and have written a law to throw out the aristocrats. We're so close to winning, but we need one last push.
